My darling girl Flopsy was put to sleep today.

She would have been 4 tomorrow.

For those that don't know, she had heart failure, and nearly died in August, but made a good recovery and had three weeks of playing and enjoying life before becoming ill again a couple of days ago. The medication to treat her breathing, along with gut stasis, meant her kidneys stopped working, and though the vet tried hard to get them going again, it didn't work. Rather than letting her suffer and her breathing problems to get worse, we decided that it was best to let her go while she was relatively comfortable.
She had a play around the room with us, some cuddles and nudges, then went to sleep in the corner by the door - the spot she chose to lie in.

You were the best bun, Flops - always feisty and independent, grumpy when you didn't get your own way, but so sweet and loving when you wanted to be, and very cheeky - especially running out of the front door as soon as it was opened so you could eat my plants. Custard is missing your cuddles and ear washes.

Binky free my baby girl. We'll miss you.

My heart is breaking for you :( I'm so sorry you had to make such a decision. But it sounds like she was comfortable and didnt suffer.

Many warm thoughts your way and lots of hugs.
